A Better Country
Many years ago, the Father called my husband, my 3 kids, and myself out from the country that we knew and loved, and into a new land, asking us to trust His leading and provision. Eight years and 1 child later, we are still wandering, unsure where we will be allowed to live, treated like foreigners and inconveniences, and at the mercy of each whim of local authorities. BUT, the LORD has been with us! With every step, and every turn, at every victory, and every tragedy, when we opened our new clinic, and when we lost the right to return to our beloved house, He has been with us. Because of this beautiful adventure with Him, we KNOW Him, and He knows us. I would not trade this life with Him for anything!!
This painting represents our cherished East Texas. The long summer days, and random winter weather. The amazing burst of wildflowers, and the fun-filled autumn evenings. The amazing people who raised us, loved us, and sent us out into the world. It was the first home we knew, and wherever we go, East Texas holds a special place in our heart.
Inspiration verse for “A Better Homeland”: Hebrews 11: 14-16 “For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one.”
